Marble Floors and More LLC is a family owned local St Louis business. In 1984 Kris Dougherty and Bill York started the first company in St Louis as a general cleaning company. Through the years over 9 family members have been involved with our business venture. One of our first jobs was special floor cleaning at a large mall back then the Crestwood Plaza Shopping Center. The mall was known at that time as the mile long mall. Our business venture for the mall was restoring the Ceramic tile flooring in the food court. The tile was holding on to dirt and discoloring leaving the mall food court floor looking dirty all the time. Kris Dougherty Co-founder of the business came up with a solution to the problem and our first large job was in progress. After that project several other floor projects came about from the general manager of the mall. Our floor technicians completed a strip and wax removal of the baseboard and the tile around the mall that was between the Terrazzo and the walls. Later this same mall manager became the general manager of the Saint Louis Galleria and our business for many years cleaned the Galleria on a nightly bases 7 days a week. Special project at the Galleria included. Stripping and waxing of the flooring, and marble flooring. Natural polishing of the stone flooring. Cleaning of the back halls and corridors. Polishing of the stone walls and water fountain. Sealing of the water fountain. Deep cleaning of the parking garage floors, walls and ceilings. Waste and odor removal services where used as needed from backup of sewage and water.

From 1984 to 2000 our family business cleaned millions of square feet of carpeting, tile, c-tile, ceramic tile, cement, concrete, stone, marble, VCT, terrazzo, office panels, raised computer room floors, rubber tile, cork tile, wood floors in the St Louis area, St Charles. St peters and Illinois. We serviced Hotels, offices space, warehouse space and warehouse buildings, retail, restaurants, factories, medical facilities and hospitals, Government buildings, schools and universities, church's, airports and transportation companies. During this time we where members of IFMA, BOMA, BSCA, and the ISSA. In 1985 to 1987 Kris Dougherty wrote several published articles for the St Louis Business Journal on clean services and spot removal, floor maintenance and cleaning services.

The market changed in 2001 with the government and the new homeland security. Before 911 our family owned business was cleaning the East terminal of the St Louis Lambert airport. The new security completely changed this business and air travel. From 2001 to 2009 our business model was working in now in more then 9 states. Most of our business was working with Hotels and resorts during this time. Our employee base grow to over 500 people and included over 5 divisions and 5 company names. Kris was traveling over seas to Dubai, far east and the west Indies several times a week for business. In 2009 Kris Dougherty sold all of his interest in all companies but the original base business. The Cleaning Business. Marble Floors and More LLC was now the only business the original founder was going to work with. Serving the St Louis metropolitan area. In 2009 and 2010 our family business get back to basics. Our staff started getting trained in Stone care and forensics. We joined Stone and Tile pros and became CSI certified stone inspectors. We just did not want to clean and polish stone Marble Granite and Limestones, but we wanted to know where they came from and if they where properly installed and how to care and restore each different type of stone. During this same time concrete polishing and coloring started to grow with momentum. As a sustainable more natural floor concrete polishing and coloring or staining is starting to gain more attention. So with this in mind our leadership team became certified and trained in the most advanced methods of concrete polishing and coloring. in 2010 we became a distributor for American Decorative concrete products. Makers of Color Juice, Dye-N-seal, Ameripolish and Surelock products.

At Marble Floors and More we want to be the best support for products, support and service for all of your floor care, stone, tile, carpeting and concrete surfaces. With the economy becoming very aggressive with budgets being reduced and cut our family business wants to be a leader in support of supplies, service and training. Marble Floors and More LLC always will offer a full service on floor care, Stone, tile, and concrete cleaning and polishing. In addition we are offering training, support and supplies on these same great services for other contractors and for business that want to service these areas in-house. In 2010 our key staff became trained on green cleaning and sustainability cleaning and U.S EPA Design for the Environment cleaning.
